Leone Kennedy ... welcome to my web space as it evolves day by day, moment by
moment, much like me!    Quote for the moment - 'just do it'

and so about me

It's quite hard to describe yourself, probably because it is a fairly one dimensional perspective, and we are multi-dimensional, at least I like to think so. I think I have lived and continue to live a colourful and left of center life, lots of change, long term travel, higher learning, making mistakes and amends as I go, learning the lessons, experiencing things that ultimately help me broaden who I am.

And so this is the on-going theme, I see life as a tapestry of experiences that help me broaden and deepen my being, reconnecting with my spirit, ebbing, flowing, crying, laughing, making it up as I go along. My biggest strengths would have to be resilence, endurance, discernment and my intuition. I like being with people, I equally love the solitude of my own company. I also love my husband, my dogs, warm sunny days, electrical storms, the sacred space of my home, symbolism, mysticism, doing small things well, simplicity and spicks and specks!

As of August 2008 I am officially not working. I am sure the next project will present itself, until then I enjoying the day by day tasks of helping friends, and creating a healthy and happy life for my family and our home.

philosopies etc

There are many things I enjoy being philosophical about, and the list is growing:

we are not alone - It astounds me to think that with the size of our solar system, the size of our galaxy (which has millions of solar systems), the size of our universe which has billions of galaxies that we tend to think we are the only living beings that exist. I mean really and truly, think outside the square of what scientists tell us and lets expand our thinking. We can not be the only inhabitants in this entire massive universe, and all of the other universes that exist, how boring, how dull, how small. No, I have not been watching too much sci-fi, not into it, this knowing comes from inside.

don't take life to seriously - This is also about not taking ourselves to seriously. Lighten up a little, break some rules, they are probably rules you made, or rules you have been conditioned to follow, but are they really serving you, are they helping you live a happy, easy and care free life. There is a movement that subtly pushes us to strive and be more, have more, fit in, get promoted, etc. Does it all have to be about hard work, struggle, perseverance, doing the hard yards etc. These values seem to be hard-coded into our society these days and it makes me wonder if it is making us more serious and less flowing and accepting. I bet you most 90 year olds aren't looking back on their life thinking if only I took myself and life more seriously. By that time of their lives they have mellowed and have discovered a certain grace. We don't have to be 90 to have that, we can have it anytime. I am 40 and I have a 20 year old younger brother. I see me in him as he makes his way in the world. Of course he does not take my advice, however when I can I remind him through lightness and humour to worry and think less and relax and laugh more.

musings

I do love the word muse, hence why I chose to create an entire heading about it. My use of the word is aligned with the wiki interpretation. In Greek mythology, the Muses are a sisterhood of goddesses or spirits, their number set at nine by Classical times, who embody the arts and inspire the creation process with their graces through remembered and improvised song and stage, writing, poetry, traditional music, and dance.

In our mainstream modern society the magic of the muse may not be as seen or as prolific as it once was. Like most ancient teachings it became diluted and dulled in our industrial and material world, there to notice if you have the eyes to see.

As I meandered on the topic of the Muses I discovered this website. Out of the 9, I resonate with Urania, the celestial one.

recipes

My latest favourite is Chocolate Oat Balls from a little book called 500 Cookies, you can purchase the book from any Wheel and Barrow store.

Ingredients - 1 Cup of Oats, 50g Butter, 200g Dark Chocolate, 3/4 Cup of Desicated Coconut, 1/3 Cup of Cocoa Powder, 2 Tablespoons of Golden Syrup. Melt over a low heat the chocolate, butter and golden syrup. Combine the oats, coconut and cocoa into a bowl. Bit by bit add the oats mixture to the chocolate mixture. Mix well, the consistency should be dense and sticky but not dry. Roll into balls using the palms of your hands, cover in desicated coconut and store in the fridge. They make a great snack for lunch boxes and afternoon tea. And they are wheat free. You can use non-dairy chocolate and butter to make them vegan. Note - I have also made these with maple syrup, you can be flexible with the measurements, it is about getting the consistency right so that they roll into firm balls for refigeration.
